Such a nice forum this is, we have to spread the word about it. -Jonas Mikey: Wow! Hi Jonas! Thanks! Mikey: I can't wait till this forum picks up and more people start posting. I've missed having a place to talk about AOB in a civil way. Mikey: Okay Jonas, I set you up as a moderator of the chat. So whenever you come here, you have the power to delete chat posts and stuff (plus your name stands out). Jonas Berggren: Yes true.. I just talked to Ulf and we might use some of the parts from the consert in Cancun in a special video for VIB. It s a new version of the song together with a wellknown easteuropean duo that we are making at the moment Mikey: Oh wow, that sounds awesome. I always thought VIB would make a cool video. Love Julia's voice in that one. Mikey: Have you guys filmed a video for the It Gets Better (gay suicide/bullying) campaign yet? Jonas Berggren: Not what I know about, maybe Ulf have done it. I ve heard about that we ll do something there soon. Mikey: Oooh, okay. When I talked to Clara about you guys doing one, I didn't know she'd be as passionate about it as I was. She's so nice! Then she told me Ulf gave it the ok. Very cool ^_^ Mikey: There was a half-acoustic remix of All For You that played partially on the radio. It sounded really cool. You guys should totally put that online. Jonas Berggren: Yeah, we ve found some supergirls and it s so fun to work with them! They really want to work!! Mikey: I haven't talked to Julia, but me and Clara chat at least once a week usually. She's a doll. Very down to earth, not a diva at all. And that voice! You guys really found a rare gem in her. Julia's fantastic too! Mikey: Clara told me she's a songwriter. Hope her and Julia can contribue to the writing of the next album, or maybe on some new tracks for like an American release or something. Mikey: *dances around to Dancer In A Daydream* Jonas Berggren: Cool!! We think about rec some new tracks in Jan between the promostuff. New Years Day , Heat Of The Night, So Over You, Eve, a total new One Day, and 4 songs for a BIG film about the ww2 and Raol Wallenberg!!-Interesting stuff!! film Mikey: Oh wow, love those titles. I've wanted to hear "New Years Day" so bad ever since that title leaked almost a year ago. Jonas Berggren: Yes Clara and Julia write music. Maybe in time.. Mikey: Oh! That reminds me. Come To Me. That song was totally perfect - how did it not make it onto Da Capo? Mikey: For a lot of Acers, Come To Me was their favorite song of the Da Capo period. So it's just odd that it missed the album haha Jonas Berggren: Jenny didn t want to re rec "come give me all that colour" part in the chorus again and the RC didn t like the opera voice there... Pity, it s such BL song Mikey: That's a shame! I always said it felt like a sequel to BL. Jonas Berggren: They also wanted Linn to sing the whole song and that was impossible course Linn hardly wanted to sing at all then... Difficult for me.. Mikey: Yeah, I can't imagine how tough that was. Mikey: What you guys got from Linn for the song was great though. I thought the back and forth vocals between them was good, very BL, very classic AOB. It's too bad that phase of Ace Of Base had to end, but the music will always be there. So there's that! Jonas Berggren: Even harder was that that I wasn t allowed to talk to the fans!! Each time I did that I heard all kind of neg comments from mu sisters... Mikey: I've been an Acer since I was 9, back in '94. So chatting with you now is pretty wild, haha. Your music's been a good escape for me. There have definitely been times in my life when I needed some Ace Of Base to get me through it, haha. Jonas Berggren: It s not to reccomind to have a musicgroup in the fam... First 3 years was ok but then.. And to have to fullfill the contracts with the RC s at the same time! So much better now! Linn and my fam are going to a restaurant in half an hour btw. Greek food, nice! Mikey: As far as your sisters and the issues surrounding that, I think you handled yourself very well. You tried to be fair to everyone, while also struggling to keep your art top notch. That's a terribly hard juggling act. Mikey: Aw, that's so cool. Mmm. Greek food. Sounds yummy! I'd say "tell Linn I said hi", but she has no idea who I am. Hahaha Jonas Berggren: No she s not very interested in our carrieere these days witch is good for us both. She s so nice and caring. Mikey: That sounds really healthy of her. Family is more important. Jonas Berggren: True, hope others will see here also soon, I can spread the word on FB perhaps? Mikey: That should help! Mikey: That would be very kind of you. Mikey: Do you still work with Ray? He was doing online stuff for you guys for about a year. He vanished though a month ago, we were good friends. Jonas Berggren: I think so, I know he had some greif in his fam. I think somebody old died.. not sure who. Mikey: Ahhhh Mikey: Well, if you guys ever need someone to do similar stuff on the American side, writing stuff in English, etc...I'm always free. I have a lot of internet time lol Mikey: It'd be a dream job to ever work for you guys. Jonas Berggren: Interesting, we will release the album there soon, unfortunately only digital, but anyway! Mikey: Digital is better than nothing! Better than Da Capo. Mikey: Besides, I don't know anybody who buys physical albums anymore. Mikey: No Acers I know are online now, haha Mikey: By the time they get here, Jonas will be gone lol. Hopefully he'll come back though. rmssw: iI would love to see a physical release of The Golden Ratio here complete with singles and promotion. I really think there's an audience here that just needs to be tapped in the right way Mikey: Yeah, there's an audience for it. The record companies just don't have enough faith. Mikey: Or don't want to spend the money lol Jonas Berggren: How many are there on this sight in a week? Can you give me some info so I know. I can post it on FB when I post about next songtitle from The Golden Ratio rmssw: It's a shame. I really don't think it would take that much effort...I think some of the tracks on the album would fare better than others here, but I really think it would only take a minimal amount of tinkering to make the album perfect for the US market Jonas Berggren: RC s in America love the album but don t have the money to promote it... Such a shame.. Mikey: We've only got about 35 people on at once before, we're still a baby of a site. So if you promoted us Jonas, we'd get A LOT more people. rmssw: I think the Ace of Base name carries enough nostalgic value for the RCs to have a little faith. Mikey: I try to promote Ace Of Base every day, haha. I'll just mention to random people I come across online that there's a new AOB album out. Mikey: If Ace Of Base played some of the gay clubs in the USA, you'd make some good cash. Like Lady GaGa did. Mikey: And smaller indie clubs Jonas Berggren: OK I write on FB, so long for now. It worked so well with Happy Nation becoming The Sign. I can only imagine how amazing The Golden Ratio's equivalent of The Sign would sound . Mikey: I totally agree rmssw! New tracks, for sure, and updated other tracks. Giving the songs more of an edge. Mikey: Like the guitar'y remix of All For You that played on the radio rmssw: right rmssw: Like I said, it would only take a little tinkering to make the album unstoppable in the US Jonas Berggren: For example (about correcting lyrics) we did a whole spanish rec with BL the day after we finnished the song with Denniz Pop. A guy from Spain translated it and we sung it but the grammatics were wrong so we couldn t use it!!! How about that!! I still listen to it sometimes, I don t know spannish that well so I can dig it!! Mikey: Haha Jonas, someone secretely recorded that version of Beautiful Life with a tape recorder at an Acer Meeting once. It's very bad audio quality, but we can get the idea of it! I thought it sounded awesome. rmssw: yeah, I remember that recording of Vida Hermosa rmssw: some Acers are sneaky Mikey: What I think would be awesome is if some day, Ace Of Base could make a section of their website called "THE VAULT" or something, and you'd have to pay to gain access, and it'd have alternate versions of songs from the past, demos, etc. Mikey: Come To Me, Thinking Of You, Killer On The Rampage, etc.. Jonas Berggren: Good idea! We ve acctually thought about about to do that with this records different recordings. Some are very good. And we also have lots of recordins from the past as well. Mikey: awesome rmssw: One thing I'd enjoy, and I know this would cause OUTRAGE among A LOT of fans, is hearing studio versions of Clara and Julia singing old songs Mikey: I think that would sell and make you guys a lot of money. And give you a lot of happy Acers! rmssw: but they sounded so amazing at the Cancun concert Mikey: Jonas we have so many horrible audio quality "secret" recordings of some of the old AOB demos. Killer On The Rampage, Kings And Queens, Thinking Of You, End Of This World, Love In The Barrio, Giving It Up, etc. Every Acer I know would pay A LOT to gain access to the good quality versions of those songs. They're like a giant missing piece in the Ace Of Base puzzle. Jonas Berggren: We will soon release the thing we did at Sirius together with the American release. We ve "saved it" for some better use.. Some old songs there, but the teaser they released wasn t that good, no reverb etc Mikey: Oooh cool, I've been waiting to hear the Sirius thing rmssw: The performance of All That She Wants they released sounded good...if you say it wasn't good, the real thing must be amazing Mikey: That reminds me Jonas, I talked to Clara about Young And Proud. I think it would be a really cool song for you guys to remake with Clara and Julia. Since a lot of people get on them about their age, I think it'd be a great song from the past you could do where they're saying...who cares?! We're young and proud! Plus, it'd really suit Clara's voice. rmssw: Most things would fit Clara's voice. She really is an amazing singer...the fan videos from Cancun more than proved that. rmssw: It's actually hard to believe she didn't do better on Idol 2009, but luckily she didn't and Ace of Base got her, lol Mikey: Yeah, I was surprised how well Clara's voice matched the old songs in the videos I saw from the Cancun gig. Like in The Sign Mikey: She totally should have won Swedish Idol. Thank god she didn't! rmssw: Yeah, she nailed The Sign. Mikey: And that's an incredibly hard song to sing! Her and Julia are the only other people I've heard sing The Sign, and not make it sound like bad kareoke. Jonas Berggren: We will do a medley on the tour with YAP,WFM,DC and TG and one other with AHAW,C and CLV Mikey: OMG! That's awesome! Young And Proud live! I'd love to see that. Mikey: and DC! rmssw: Wow, it would be amazing to finally hear those songs live! Mikey: "Gone with the wind I am not!" hehe...one of the best Ace Of Base lyrics. Jonas Berggren: Greek time! Your lyrics have always been beautiful. They just need some deciphering by native English-speakers somtimes, lol Mikey: Sometimes I like the Swenglish (Swedish+English). Hahaha, it reminds me of the poetic license that Shakespeare would use sometimes. Mikey: Because sometimes what's right lyrically doesn't sound as good musically rmssw: I think there's a trick to it...adding lyrical flair like that while still maintaining credibility and not sounding like you just don't speak English well. Ace of Base has managed to do that for the most part Jonas Berggren: I rarely get affended lol Mikey: I can't wait to hear the songs Jonas mentioned. ALinnKA: Интересная закономерность: как только появляется на сцене какой-нибудь новый прыщик, до этого живший в трущобах и неизвестности и у него не было никаких талантов, то после того, как он немного покажет макушку из дерьма, то у него почему-то сразу находятся таланты сочинительства и написания музыки. Интересно, это у них, пролетев несколько диванов, открывается третий глаз, то есть талант? В данный момент мое высказывание относится к "работоспособным" девочкам из нового состава.

ALinnKA: Я так поняла, что типа сестры обе нихрена не хотели делать и не давали ему типа общаться с фанатами, постоянно критикуя. А вот новые шмары ударно производят говно и ему это ппц аж нравится.
